Everyone likes to talk to others about a new technique they discovered, a new project they are starting on, one they have completed or even what hasn’t worked to see what others have tried. And if you are new to learning a skill what better resource than to find others willing to teach and share. These Mega-Meetups are for you!
We are combing the Houston area for groups that have like interests and inviting them to come have a Mega-Meetup together. Bringing your creations and examples of projects are encouraged. Come network with others in the Houston area in your area of interest!
These Mega Meetups will be an informal discussion to network and share to see if there are like interests. At this time we have identified the topics and sessions schedule as follows:
|Saturday, November 12th|
|1:00PM-3:00PM||Makerspaces in Education|
|Sunday, November 13th|
|1:00PM-3:00PM||Robotics for Adults|
For each of these session there will be smaller groups of discussion based on interests. For instance, artisans involved in woodworking will be able to connect and share around a table whereas sewing crafters may be at another table. Attendees can intermingle if they like also. The intent is to provide the opportunity to network, share and Power Up Houston Makers.
If we haven’t contacted your group or Meetup yet, we apologize! The Houston area is rich with knowledge and groups making all kinds of things. I don’t know if we can reach out to all before the Faire, so please contact us to get your group plugged in to #PowerUpHouston!
If you want to share that you are coming, let us know us know on Meetup.com!
These sessions will be held in Booth #1201A in the Maker Exhibit Hall in the George R. Brown Convention Center. These sessions will be free and open to the public, but we invite you to purchase tickets to support this event and visit more with all the makers and exhibitors in the Maker Exhibit Hall.
